myWorth Privacy Policy
In short: myWorth doesn't collect any data. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account, and is shared only with a partner you invite.
Information we collect
None. myWorth has no server, no accounts or sign-in of its own, and no analytics. I never receive or have access to anything you enter.
Data the app stores
To work, myWorth saves the following:
- Accounts: name, category (such as savings, investments, mortgage or credit card), balance or amount owed, notes, who it belongs to, and when it was added and last changed
- People: your name and icon, and your partner's if you add one
- An identifier for your iCloud account, provided by Apple, so myWorth can tell which person in a shared household is you. It isn't your name, email address or Apple ID.
You type in balances yourself. myWorth doesn't connect to your bank or any financial service, and never asks for bank logins or account numbers.
iCloud
myWorth keeps a copy of your data in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. This syncs it between iPhones signed in to your Apple ID and restores it if you reinstall the app. Account names, balances and notes are stored with CloudKit encryption. That data is stored by Apple under your Apple ID and covered by Apple's privacy policy. I can't access it.
If you're not signed in to iCloud, myWorth still works, and your data stays on your iPhone.
Sharing with a partner
If you invite a partner, or join your partner's household, the household's accounts and names are shared between the two of you through iCloud. You can both see, change and delete all of it. You can also see each other's names, and the email address or phone number used to send the invite, as provided by iCloud. Only the person invited can open the household. Either of you can stop sharing at any time from Settings.
Joining your partner's household moves your accounts into it, and the app asks you to confirm first.
If you add a partner without inviting them, their name and accounts stay in your own iCloud and aren't shared with anyone.
Face ID and passcode
myWorth uses Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to lock the app. This is handled entirely by iOS. myWorth only learns whether unlocking succeeded, and never receives your face data, fingerprint or passcode.
Notifications
myWorth receives silent notifications from Apple's iCloud telling it that shared data has changed. These don't carry your data to me or anyone else. myWorth doesn't show notifications.
Third-party services
None besides Apple's iCloud, as described above. myWorth has no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or third-party SDKs. No data is shared with me or sold, and you are not tracked.
Children's privacy
myWorth collects no data from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
- Deleting an account in the app deletes it from your iPhone and your iCloud, and from your partner's iPhone if you share a household.
- Erase All Data in Settings deletes everything myWorth stores on your iPhone and in your iCloud, including names. If you shared your household, your partner loses access to it. If you joined your partner's household, you leave it.
- When you stop sharing, each of you keeps the accounts assigned to you, and the rest of the household's data is removed from the iPhone of the person who joined.
- Deleting the app removes its data from that iPhone only. Your iCloud copy remains until you delete it. You can do that in the app, or from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
I have no copy of your data, so I can't recover or delete it for you.
